In 1998, Rockdale Youth Baseball Association’s coach invited the first child with a disability to play baseball on his team; Michael a 7 yr old child in a wheel chair attended every game and practice, while cheering on his brother. The next year other children with disabilities were invited to play baseball on a typical baseball field within the baseball complex of the RYBA and the Miracle League was born. The league began with 35 players on four teams to address the desire for these athletes to dress in uniforms, make plays in the field, and round the bases just like their mainstream peers.
There were no programs to copy. So it was decided that:
It was quickly realized that this new league needed its own field. One with less barriers and custom elements for our special players. So work began on the first of many Miracle League fields.
In 2005 the Miracle League of Palm Beach County was founded by Jeff & Julia Kadel. As they watched a HBO segment on the Miracle League, the Kadels realized that they would use their experience and talents to bring this special baseball league to the children and families of their community.
"This is a wonderful and incredible organization for disabled children of all kinds. Thank you very much to the Kadel family. What you have created and developed through several years of inspiration, dedication and hard work is an organization full of joy and entertainment for children who rarely receive this kind of
treatment anywhere else.
For the last 15 years I have seen you provide a wonderful experience not only for my son, but also for countless children regardless of their race, religion, color, age, socio- economic status or type of disability. Thank you so much, from the bottom
of my heart.
You are a very special family"

Play began in 2007 and after the success of that initial season, it was apparent to Julia & Jeff that the league needed to grow and serve all individuals with special needs who wished to participate. With the support of their community leaders and generous donors, the first barrier-free field in PBC came to fruition in Delray Beach in 2010. Expansion continued and in 2020 the North County Location in Palm Beach Gardens was established. The MLPBC now serves over 150 special needs athletes and is supported by hundreds of volunteers.
The Miracle League was born and is flourishing today. Presently there are over 300 Miracle League Organizations across the country including Puerto Rico, Canada and Australia. The Miracle League is proud to serve over 200,000 children and young adults with disabilities.
After years of providing a life changing experience to our amazing athletes across the country, the idea of an annual All-Star game became the next big step.
This event will bring Miracle League athletes from across the country to a destination weekend filled with fun, friendship and, of course, baseball.
The 5th Annual Miracle League All-Star games will be held November 3rd – 5th, 2023, in Palm Beach County Florida. Each Miracle League Organization has the opportunity to attend this once in a lifetime event.
Your support will garner local and national media attention, while providing life long memories to our special needs athletes and community
Not only is this a tremendous honor for our local league, it also provides a unique opportunity to showcase
Palm Beach County and the dedication of its community members, leaders, and businesses to serve others in a impactful manner.
"Wonderful people doing amazing
things for our children"
Robert & Domenick
